KHOI SIEO SEONG (JASON)

Originally from Malaysia, but now a permanent Australian resident living in Melbourne, Jason is the newest member of the LRS team.

Jason will be working on various Windows' projects with the intention that he will take over the development and support of these projects.

Jason has a Master of Business Systems, I.T., from Monash University. In 2004 he received a full scholarship, Head of School's Achievement, which was awarded to the top student in the course.

His other qualifications include :

• Graduate Diploma of Information Management & Systems (2005)
• Bachelor of Science in Computing (2002)
• Advanced Diploma (Major in Computer Science - 2001)
• American University Program (Diploma Equivalent - 1999)

Jason's Academic Research Project, completed in 2005, discussed database join optimization in PDA devices across distributed environments, i.e. joining the database tables on a PDA device with each table located in a different database Server across different network locations.

He proposed a better join algorithm with improved efficiency and put the algorithm into practice by using
C# .Net for compact framework on Pocket PC, to join the tables from MS SQL Server. The research paper was accepted by IEEE Conference (2005).

Jason also has three years commercial experience developing business database applications using a range of 4th GL tools. Since the computing industry is always evolving very quickly, I.T. projects are often not locked into specific tools and technologies. Thus the capabilities of learning and applying new development technologies are vital as an I.T. professional.
