SCI STORE

The Scottish Care Information system (SCI Store)

NHSScotland has developed SCI Store to provide clinicians with secure access to patient information at the point of care. Store is an information repository which is integrated to other local systems though its communication interfaces.

SCI Store shows diagnostic results between and within trusts where Laboratory services supply results
for Patients outside their Trust boundary. SCI Store browser is configured to show a consolidated view of results extracted from more than one SCI Store via the Store Web Services

Demographic data received from interfaces goes through a matching process using configurable matching criteria before being written to SCI Store.

LRS was instrumental in developing the first interactive results and patient master index interface with SCI Store. This service allows the MediPATH service to maintain the Pathology PMI in step with the Scottish National Database.

The GPLink Project

A further development of this allowed MediPATH reports to be available electronically on all GP's desk tops. GPs are able to initiate an order for services directly from their desktop.
