Analysis by the Microsoft Analysis Services service requires additional data warehouse processing. This process involves consolidating data according to predefined structures for storage in a data cube. The data cube is then available for OLAP style processing and data mining.

PivotTable and PivotChart Report
PivotTable and PivotChart Reports are Microsoft data analysis components. These components are integrated into the Microsoft Excel and Access desktop products.

Both tools provide a Wizard style interface for creating, defining and extracting data for multi-dimensional data analysis. The tools provide a simple interface for filtering and manipulating the display of data.
