LRS Health and Sysmex announce business alliance in trans-Tasman healthcare market
In a joint agreement, LRS Health and Sysmex New Zealand Ltd have established a collaborative arrangement which will allow both companies to market their respective health IT suites across both sides of the Tasman.
The companies have formed the alliance based on common-purpose and a commitment to providing innovative solutions that cater to the healthcare market.
Sharing similar principles and goals, LRS Health and Sysmex both possess a strong customer focus and extensive industry experience.
“The agreement will be mutually beneficial for both companies and the healthcare organizations we service,” says Sysmex’s CEO, James Webster. “We are excited to be working with LRS Health – they have a long-standing reputation in Australia, highly regarded products and strong knowledge of the local industry.”
LRS Health’s products for hospital billing (MediBILL) and blood bank are installed in many public hospital sites in Australia. These products have been specifically developed to comply with the unique industry requirements. Sysmex’s Delphis LIS will intergrate with these products.
By intergrating complementary products, the companies are well-matched to supply a robust, end-to-end laboratory information system.
Andrew Edgley, Chairman and Chier Software Architect of LRS Health commented that the agreement will provide his company with the benefits of working with a larger global organization in Sysmex and strengthen the position of LRS Health in the local Australian market. “Our current customers and future customers will benefit from more flexibility, continuity of service and local customer support, plus the advantage of being able to leverage the combined skill and experience from both companies.”

VICTORIAN regional health service Barwon Health has embarked on a major overhaul of its electronic billing system that processes about $100 million in revenue each year.
Barwon Health has selected LRS Health’s MediBILL as its e-billing platform to replace six disparate billing systems that fall under the umbrella of iSoft’s HOMER.
He said one major reason MediBILL was selected was LRS Health’s approach to feedback and willingness to adapt to requests for changes. “Getting changes to software previously was an excruciatingly slow process … it took forever…”
“They’re radically different to other software companies and instead of us having to change our practices to suit the software, we can sit down and have a discussion with them,” Mr Jobling said.
